Private Locates

ULS provides private locating for utilities that don’t fall in the scope of 811. 811 is only required to locate utilities owned by public companies which leaves the responsibility of locating private utilities to the property owner. Almost every job site includes some type of privately-owned underground utility so it is important to locate these lines before excavation begins to avoid costly property damage or serious injury.

HydroVAC Excavation

Excavating in areas with congested underground infrastructure can be costly and dangerous. Vacuum excavation allows contractors to safely expose buried utilities before they begin digging. Hydro vacuum excavation uses pressurized water and a vacuum system to dig up soil leaving holes and trenches for easy access to utility lines. Using a hydro vac for excavation not only minimizes damages to existing infrastructure, it is also faster and requires less man power to operate than tradition digging which saves the contractor time, money and stress.

Subsurface Utility Engineering

Subsurface Utility Engineering combines mapping, surveying, and civil engineering to locate the exact position of utilities. In the developing stages of project planning SUE helps eliminate unexpected conflicts with underground utilities.
